Watervliet, Green Island to share a ladder truck
Watervliet Mayor Mike Manning and Green Island Mayor Ellen McNulty-Ryan are planning to announce that their fire departments will share a ladder truck.
The two communities have agreed to share a 2009 Sutphen 95-foot Aerial Ladder Truck that cost $859,000.
The mayors have not yet revealed what prompted the partnering of the municipal service.
The truck will be unveiled by the two mayors and the Watervliet and Green Island Fire Departments at Hudson Shores Park tomorrow morning.

The unit features the following: 500 HP Cummins ISM, 1500 GPM Hale Pump with 300 Gallons Water, Stainless Steel Body, City Compliment of ground ladders, Onan Hydraulic Generator 10KW, Fire Research 240V Focus Scene Lights, Whelen LED Scene Lights, and Whelen LED Warning Lights. This Truck was Sold by Phil Vander Molen and Serviced by Arsenal City Fire Apparatus Service.
